Saving Iceland Winter Conference 2007

On the 1st of December Saving Iceland is bringing together some of the most knowledgeable geologists and environmental activists in Iceland. Activists from around Iceland are invited to join us, at the Friðarhúsid, Rauðarárstígur, 101 Reykjavík.

10am- Ásta Þorleifsdóttir – The Effects of Geothermal Extraction in the South of Iceland and the Overfilling of Hálsón, Náttúruvaktin

11am- Pall Einarsson – The Imminent Man Made Eruption at Upptytingar

12pm- Bergþor, a Þjórsá farmer involved with the grass roots movement against the damming of the river.

1pm- LUNCH

2pm- Guðrún Tryggvadóttir from Naturran, An Overview of the Environmental Issues in the South and South West of Iceland

3pm- Ásbjörg, A Left-Green MP from Húsavík speaking about the Alcoa’s smelter and energy projects in the North of Iceland.

4pm- General discussion for all attendees on the movement as whole/where we are going/networking..or anything that comes up..xx

5pm onwards- DINNER. MUSIC
