    Dear people of Saving Iceland,

what happens in Iceland is shocking and what you are doing is great! I love Iceland, have been there for a month in 2006 and I want to come again next summer (2011 )to travel with my sister.
Maybe there will be a possibility for me to stay longer and participate…!?
I dont know yet, but it will be good to keep updated…

    thanks for Information,
    greetings from Freiburg, Germany

I guess what you need most from your supporters outside Iceland is activist solidarity. That’s what some of them have been doing right here in Marseille (France) for a few months. Anti-authoritarians and libertarians, particularly the Marseille Black Cross, have joined the international RVK9 supporting campaign by setting up information meetings, for instance this very week, and are watching very closely the Iceland people’s upheaval aftermath.
That’s why I’d like to be kept closely informed about its further developments as I can translate your comments into French and Spanish.

  3. Dear All, Magma Energy started analysis to develop Plants in Tuscany (Mensano project).
On Saturday 26th of May our association organized a meeting to produce our study on the economical impact of the plants for tourism, landscape and agriculture.
The analysis was developed together with some Italian universities.
Few hours ago we have been asked by Magma to remove the documents from our web site, because our hypothesis about the visual impact were considered a damage for the company .
You can see the story on: (in italian)

Living in America i see what others are so comfortable or ignorant to acknowledge. That Corporate greed and political influence are siphoning off our planets natural assets. Yes, they create jobs, but it would be foolish to think my government or corporate elites would deign to even notice the common layperson unless it was to blind them with rhetoric and steal their support and empowerment. Where there is greed there is evil, such has it been for millennium but that doesn’t have to continue. the greed of ages past carved empires and enslaved countless millions but with the advent of our post industrialized technology we can harm not just insular peoples on distant continents but the entire world. Our modern comforts engender us to a terrible devil may care attitude towards our land, air, oceans. Just like all organisms, people are considered collateral damage to “progress”. ask your self, just who is it that is making the great strides towards the future? is it you or i? I think not. It is the small percentage of elites who will profit while using their influence to quell opposition and attempt to make us believe their self centered interests are our own. Fortunately, also unlike in ages past, we have much more opportunity to act. if the majority were to defy existing policies in politics and industry things would have to change. It’s such a pity everyone doesn’t see this or things may have changed many years ago. I am off the soapbox now. love the site
